It’s been a while so here is an update

August 29th, 2007 · No Comments

We are back home in San Diego. It is so nice to be home. Tori started the 5th grade. Travis is still home and doing great. I applied for a few jobs. I am still not 100% sure that I am ready to go back to work but we will make that decision when the time comes.

I have not written for a while because we were busy our last few days in San Jose packing and getting things ready for the trip home. Being home is GREAT. I am so much happier. I think that we all are. We can sleep in our own beds now and we are all together. I have cooked dinner every night since we have been back and we have been spending a lot of quality time together. We are all a lot happier. I feel like we have our life back. Before his second surgery we were living day by day. We never knew what the next day was going to bring us but we knew that everything revolved around Travis’s tumor. Now that we are home I feel like we have a future and I am optimistic that as time goes on less and less time and emotions will be spent on this tumor and we can just be a “normal family”.

We have also started going on walks every other night. This is good for all of us but especially good for Travis. The doctors told him that moving around will help his body break down the blood that collected in his back. It has been pretty hot here so we have been walking in the evenings when it cools off.

I am doing my best to update the website with as much information as possible. I am going to try and update it daily with new information as well catch up with updating the days between his surgery and now. While we were in San Jose I kept a diary in preparation for this website so I am doing my best to organize and update the page.
